Tony:

Hi everyone, Tony here from Skylark Migration. I want to talk to you guys today about state nomination.

Tony: Let's talk about South Australia state nomination. So their occupation list is the same as the Department of Immigration's skilled occupation list. So across short-term and the medium long-term ones. So with South Australia's occupation list, for each occupation, they define up to six streams that are available through their nomination program.

  1. So the first one would be if you are currently working in your nominated occupation in South Australia.

  2. Second way you can meet nomination in South Australia would be if you are a graduate, but just bear in mind that if you're a graduate, there are other requirements that sometimes come with it. Like you may need to achieve a certain score or you may need to be working in your nominated occupation anyway.

  3. With the third stream, you've got a long-term resident. So you've been living in South Australia for at least 5 years, then you can look at meeting these requirements.

  4. Fourthly, if you are working in what the government defines as outer regional South Australia, then the requirements are a little bit more relaxed. You still need to be working, but it doesn't necessarily have to be in the nominated occupation. It can be any skill level one or two job according to ANZSCO.

  5. Fifth would be if you are applying from overseas, then there will be a separate set of requirements, which are different for each occupation.

  6. And finally, there is another stream, which they call the "Talent and Innovators program". So it is open to graduates or people who are employed in South Australia. The requirements are a little bit easier than the other graduate and employment streams, but they are more targeted toward people who can contribute to certain target sectors that the South Australian government is prioritising.

Tony: Just remember that this is only a very simplified summary of the state nomination requirements to help you develop your migration strategy. Make sure you do visit the state government website for a full list of details on your eligibility.
